How Pachou Got Its Name

Domain Name
Sometimes domain names have odd origins.

There have been many times I've watched people as they've looked peculiarly at our business name, studied it for a bit, then attempted the pronunciation...Pakow...Pachow -- it's quite comical. Next, they usually ask, "What kind of company is this? or... "How did you choose that name?"

I realize Pachou (pronounced Puh-Choo, -- there! I've saved you the agony) is an unusual name for a company. We in the software business enjoy finding unique names to describe our businesses and applications. But the name "Pachou" is quite fitting and has an interesting origin.

Many years ago, when the owner's niece was very young, she dressed up as a fairy princess and went around the room tapping her magic wand on each family. First, she proclaimed a person couldn't talk. Then, she went to the next person and made the same proclamation. When she reached the last person (the founder and owner of Pachou) she hesitated, dreaming up a creative new idea, she then tapped him on the head and said, "PACHOU! ...you have no hair."

Well, that was funny at the time. But not too long afterwards, the "power of pachou" took hold. That's right. Uncle Dennis lost his hair just as she said.

Now you're probably thinking we wake up each morning, tap our computers with a magic wand and say, "Pachou! ...make an amazing applications and produce websites than ranks at the top of the search engines..." Not exactly. The name Pachou does represent to us the power of making a creative dream come true, but we do not rely on chance. We are dedicated to hard work and giving personal attention to each of our clientele.

We hope you'll follow our blog each week as we share what we are learning about making a little magic happen in the world of software.
